BUSHEY

Gilbert Bushey of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Area 3 on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the age of 96 years.

Gilbert was born in Kinsella, Alberta to Samuel and Theresa Bushey, and was a life-long resident of the Rimbey area. Gilbert will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his three sons, Ken Bushey (Rebecca Paizen) of Penticton, B.C.; Vern Bushey (Christine Cielien) of Sylvan Lake; and Rodney Bushey (Christiane Morel) of Invermere, B.C.; and his two daughters, Lorraine (Peter) Chapman of Edmonton; and Roxanne (Rinus) Houtkooper of Caspe, Spain; as well as seven cherished grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his brother, Jim (Susan) Bushey of Red Deer; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, and many treasured friends. Gilbert was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Evelyn in 2012; his parents, Samuel and Theresa; three brothers: Willard, Walter, and Wilfred; and seven sisters: Mary, May, Jean, Helen, Agnes, Alice, and Martha.

A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Gilbert's Life was held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rimbey on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Schultz officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. Gilbert was laid to rest with his wife, Evelyn in the Mount Auburn Cemetery, Rimbey at 3:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Gilbert’s Memory may be made directly to the Zion Lutheran Church, Box 133, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0.
