ALWARD


Gloria Donna Alward of Rimbey, Alberta passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the age of 66 years, as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident.


Gloria will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her best friend and dance partner, Kevin Hampton; and by her three sons, Jason (Nikki) of Sherwood Park; Marc (Amie) of Enderby, B.C.; and Trevor of Slave Lake; as well as her two precious grandchildren, Dalanie and Nole. She will also be sadly missed by her father, Doug McTavish of Hanna; her brothers, Gord (Pat) McTavish; and Randy (Lola) Jaffray, both of Rimbey; and her sisters, Marj (Dick) Hancik of Rimbey; and Sheila (Duncan) Clark of Stettler; and her brother-in-law, Randy Hollingshead also of Rimbey; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, special cousins and other family members, many cherished friends, and a dance community that Gloria adored being a part of. She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Hazel and Sandy Jaffray; her stepmother, Laura McTavish; her brother, Hugh McTavish; and her sister, Deb Hollingshead.

A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Gloria’s Life was held at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Gloria’s Memory may be made directly to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre - Long Term Care, c/o Rimbey Health Services Donations Program, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0 (www.rimbeyhealthdonations.com); or to the charity of one’s choice.
