Joseph “Joe” Reis of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Area Three on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the age of 92 years.

Joe will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his five loving sons: Wayne (Kathy) of Red Deer; Brian (Linda) of Blackfalds; Kevin (Sheila) of Rimbey; Cordell ‘Pep’ (Kristine) of Red Deer; and Darrel (Diane) also of Red Deer; as well as twelve cherished grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his three sisters: Annie Krossa of Rimbey; Mary Odenbach of Rimbey; and Edna Schmidt of Calgary; his sister-in-law, Thordis (Don) Bailie of Red Deer; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many close friends. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Gottlieb and Susanna Reis; his beloved wife, Elsie in 1990; his grandson, Brandon in 2007; two great grandchildren, Brandtt in 2013 and Grace in 2012; his brother, Fred; and three sisters: Rose, Katie and Elsie.

A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Joe’s Life was held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rimbey on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Schultz officiating. Interment preceded the Funeral Service in the Iola Fairview Cemetery, Bluffton at 11:00 a.m. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Joe’s Memory may be made directly to the Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund, Box 133, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0; or to the charity of one’s choice.
