John Petersen of Rimbey, Alberta, formerly of Winfield, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Area Three on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the age of 79 years.

John will be forever remembered and sadly missed by his loving children: Doug Petersen of Dawson Creek, B.C.; Cheryl Hanch of Edmonton; Kevin Petersen of Spruce Grove; Merv Petersen of Sherwood Park; and Bev Austria of Edmonton. He will also be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by seven cherished grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his sister, Florence English of Medicine Hat; as well as many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents; his son, Alan; one brother, Bob; and one sister, Doris Gregory.

With respect for John’s wishes, no formal funeral service was held. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
