MEIKLE

Florence May Meikle of Rimbey, Alberta, formerly of Hoadley, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Area Three on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the age of 91 years.

Florence was born on January 28, 1927 to Henry and Mary Case, and was raised in the Tomahawk, Alberta area. In her late teens, she moved around a bit with employment until meeting the love of her life, Jim Meikle. They were united in marriage in 1948, and together they farmed and raised their family in the Hoadley area, where they resided until retiring to Rimbey. Florence loved gardening and sewing, and was very proud to be a strong partner with Jim on the farm. She was determined to share her creative knowledge and skills with her daughters, and was happy to share with others who were interested.

“Florence will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.”

Florence will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her five daughters: Edith Nesom, Evelyn (Lloyd) Taylor, Marie (Cliff) Balan, Leslie (Wayne) Oszli, and Laura Bartman (Larry).
