PALM

Rod Palm passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at his home west of Rimbey, following a sudden heart attack. His wife, Mary, was at his side. Born to Ruth and Leo Palm on July 11, 1962, Rod was the seventh of nine children. He grew up on their farm west of Forshee, where the seeds of his character were sown: steadfast work ethic, generosity of spirit, reverence for nature, and love of learning. A lifelong appreciation for music, and the first sparks of his competitive spirit could also be attributed to this big, boisterous family. Gilbert Bushey of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Area 3 on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the age of 96 years. Gilbert was born in Kinsella, Alberta to Samuel and Theresa Bushey, and was a life-long resident of the Rimbey area. Gilbert will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his three sons, Ken Bushey (Rebecca Paizen) of Penticton, B.C.; Vern Bushey (Christine Cielien) of Sylvan Lake; and Rodney Bushey (Christiane Morel) of Invermere, B.C.; and his two daughters, Lorraine (Peter) Chapman of Edmonton; and Roxanne (Rinus) Houtkooper of Caspe, Spain; as well as seven cherished grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
