Rance W. Curtis, ‘the Trapper’, of Hoadley, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Area Three on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the age of 87 years. Marie Olson of Rimbey, Alberta, 96 years young, passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. She was very special - and her light will forever be missed. Marie was born on March 8, 1923 at Bluffton, into the family of George and Eliza Donnelly. When she was 14 years old, she left home to finish her high school education at St. Joseph’s Convent, a catholic boarding school in Red Deer. Marie attended the Convent for three years. After her graduation, she became a teacher and taught one year at the Dakota School near Crestomere, then one year at the Rutherford School east of Tees. Ann Lien of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the age of 78 years. Ann will always be remembered and greatly missed by her loving family: her two daughters, Angela Fawcett (Randall Simonson) of Red Deer; and Liza Fawcett of Rimbey; as well as twelve cherished grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. John Wolney of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully, with his loving wife by his side, at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the age of 71 years. John was born in Eckville, Alberta and lived most of his early life in the Leslieville area. He moved to Prince Rupert, B.C. before settling in Fox Creek for 38 years, retiring in 2011. John was in the first Instrument Technician class at NAIT, and went on to become an electrician as well. He was an avid garage sale and antique guru, and especially enjoyed collecting Inuit and Indigenous artifacts. John also took great pleasure in his garden and his fruit trees.
