She passed away peacefully at the Royal Oak Village, Lacombe on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Marjorie was born in Eckville, Alberta to Calvin and Mae Fletcher. She resided at her farm after her husband, John passed away in May, 1969, until her illness in 2016. Marjorie then moved to the Royal Oak Villa in Lacombe until her passing. Annie ‘Ann’ Hicks of Bluffton, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the age of 92 years. Ann was born on January 27, 1927 on a farm near Lipton, Saskatchewan. She was the second oldest of twelve children, and helped to look after her younger siblings following the passing of her father when Ann was only 16 years old. Later, she worked as a cook in various logging camps throughout Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. where her brothers were also employed. In 1958, Ann attended nursing aide classes in Calgary. Doreen Yvonne Montalbetti of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the age of 82 years, following the results of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on August 29, 2019. Doreen was born, raised, and united in marriage in the Springdale and Bluffton Districts in Alberta. Together with her husband, Joe, they then resided for ten years near Cranbrook, B.C., returning to Alberta to live and farm in the Blindman River District for many years. Carol was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on June 3, 1942 to Edward and Helene Jehn. She grew up in the Pipestone area west of Wetaskiwin, and attended school in Pipestone and Calmar. Carol’s father passed away when she was only 12 years old, and when she was able, Carol worked to help support herself and her family.
