MONTALBETTI
Doreen Yvonne Montalbetti of Rimbey, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the age of 82 years, following the results of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on August 29, 2019.
Doreen was born, raised, and united in marriage in the Springdale and Bluffton Districts in Alberta. Together with her husband, Joe, they then resided for ten years near Cranbrook, B.C., returning to Alberta to live and farm in the Blindman River District for many years. They retired to Rimbey, where Doreen resided until her passing. As a young woman, Doreen began her career working as a bookkeeper for the Montalbetti Brothers General Store in Bluffton; and then as a school secretary, first in Bluffton and then while living in Cranbrook, B.C. Doreen’s last employment was with the Bank of Montreal in Rimbey, of which she enjoyed for 19 years. Her memory will be forever cherished by family and friends.
Doreen will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son, David Montalbetti (Kathy Ramsey) of Salt Spring Island, B.C.; and her daughter, Susan Montalbetti of Calgary; as well as five treasured grandchildren: Isaac, Luke, Sam, Taylor, and Che. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother, Wayne (Dianne) Carr of the Springdale District; two special nieces, Maureen (Rob) Adams of Forestburg, Alberta; and Shelley (Greg) Johnson of Veteran, Alberta; in addition to other extended family members, and many close friends. Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Alfhild Carr; and her beloved husband, Joe in 2016.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Doreen’s Life was held at the Liberty Hall (east of Hoadley, Alberta on Hwy 611) on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Gene Packwood officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Joe at a later date.
