CURTIS


Rance W. Curtis, ‘the Trapper’, of Hoadley, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre ~ Area Three on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the age of 87 years.


Rance will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family: his beloved wife, Sandy; four sons, John (Susan) Curtis of Hoadley; Wilfred (JoAnne) Curtis of Red Deer; George (Dawne) Curtis of Sundre; Ken (Wendy) Curtis of Rimbey; five daughters, Alberta (Rod) Sawley of Rimbey; Marlene (Bruce) Phillips of Ponoka; Jenny (Richard) Parker of Edson; Colleen Pittman (Bruce Redpath) of Breton; Sheila (Randy) Warner of Cherhill, Alberta; his stepson, Scott (Carrie) Taylor of Calgary; and his stepdaughter, Susan Taylor (Chris Bryant) of Canmore; as well as 24 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered by two brothers, Jerry (Verna) Curtis of Tisdale, Saskatchewan; and Ken (Judy) Curtis of Kitchener, Ontario; and two sisters, Bernice Ruston of Calgary; and Janice Schiestel of Port Elgin, Ontario; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many cherished friends. Rance was predeceased by his first wife, Inez in 1993; his son-in-law, Kelly Pittman; three grandchildren: Kevin, Kim, and Jessica; two brothers, Joe and Winston; and his sister, June Bond.


Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Rimbey on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Father Les Drewicki, Celebrant. Interment took place immediately after the Funeral Mass in the Hoadley Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the Hoadley Community Hall, Hoadley.
