LARSEN


George “Geo” Larsen of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Long Term Care on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the age of 78 years.


George was born in Edmonton on October 14, 1938. In 1960, he was united in marriage to Patricia Holstein and together they purchased the farm west of Rimbey. George was a man of many talents; he was a cat skinner, welder, mechanic, and spent numerous years working in the oilfield. Many people may remember George as a collector of special “treasures”, and his place will always be remembered as a well-known local landmark to many.


George will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Pat; his children: Dale (Kim) Larsen of Spirit River, Alberta; Kim Harrowing of Rimbey; Brent (Tracy) Larsen of Rimbey; numerous cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, George Sr. and Christina; and his son, Wade in 2010.


A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of George's Life was held at the Last West Hall, Rimbey on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend David Holmes officiating. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
