BOVBJERG
Annis Bovbjerg of Winfield, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the age of 72 years.
Annis was born in Lacombe and spent most of her adult life living in Red Deer. She moved to Winfield in 1993 to be with her best friend and companion, Doug Hall. Annis was a kind and thoughtful woman, always with a quick smile and a great sense of humour. She was an avid reader, loved to knit, and was an excellent seamstress. For many years, Annis also enjoyed playing golf and curling. She was a very good cook, and together with Doug they would often have friends over for an amazing meal, followed by a glass or two of wine and great fellowship. Annis also loved to travel, mostly to warm places. One of her most memorable trips was to England to visit a pen-pal she had been corresponding with since high school, but had never met. Annis will be missed by her friends and acquaintances, many of which she met during her 18 years working at Smith Hardware, and she will always be remembered by her cherished friends at Wine Wednesdays.
Annis will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband, Doug; and her two daughters, Annette (John) Cusworth of Ladner, B.C.; and Rhonda Bovbjerg (Bill Magee) of Langley, B.C.; as well as three treasured grandchildren: Riley Bovbjerg, and Caitlin and Natasha Cusworth. She will also be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her brother, Elmer (Edna) Matthias of Tagish, Yukon; her sister, Eunice Stetz (Don Rose) of Lacombe; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many treasured friends. Annis was predeceased by her parents, Martha and Harry Matthias; and her sister and brother-in-law, Ina Mae (Con) Klippert of Mayo, Yukon.
With respect for Annis’ wishes, no formal funeral service was held. Cremation took place at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Annis’ Memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice.
