STOUT
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Pearl Joyce Stout on Wednesday, April 3, 2019; beloved wife of 61 years to James Bradley Stout, and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.
Pearl was born on January 3, 1939 to William and Sadie Grundy, the second youngest of seven children. She was born into the pioneer lifestyle and grew up on a farm west of Rimbey. Pearl worked as a nurse’s aide, and for a period of time worked at both the Rimbey and Eckville hospitals. She was united in marriage to the love of her life and her best friend, James Stout on October 25, 1957 at the Rimbey United Church, with the wedding dance held at the Last West Hall. Pearl and James moved to the farm she grew up on in the fall of 1958, where they raised their six children: Boyd, Tony, Lorne, Wade, Diane, and Stacy. Pearl was dedicated to her family and the farm. She had a kind and generous heart, and was always willing to help out friends and neighbours. She loved all animals; especially dogs, bottle-fed calves ~ her “bottle babies”, and birds. Pearl’s cooking skills were unsurpassed ~ her fried chicken and pumpkin pie are legend! She also loved to listen to music and sing along with sparkling green eyes, red hair, and laughter! She especially enjoyed dancing with her love, Jim.
Pearl is welcomed into heaven above by her angels: her son, Wade; her brothers: Bill, Tom, and Fred; and by her parents, Sadie and William. Rest peacefully, Little Red. We know that we will see you again and that your spirit is with Wade now, as well as with other loved ones who have passed before. Until we meet again, you will always be held in our hearts.
Pearl is survived by her loving family: her husband, James ‘Jim’; her sons: Boyd (Kathy), Tony (Jenny), and Lorne; and her daughters: Diane (Mark), and Stacy (Barry); as well as fifteen precious grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and her treasured sisters: Janet, Anita, and Grace.
A Public Memorial Service in Celebration of Pearl’s Life was held at the Rimbey United Church on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Margaret Lange and Pastor Terry Oke officiating. Pearl was laid to rest with her son, Wade in a Private Family Interment Service at the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Pearl’s Memory may be made directly to the Rimbey Health Services Donations Program, c/o Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta T0C 2J0 (www.rimbeyhealthdonations.com).
