Albert was born on the family farm on April 22, 1940 to Charles and Olga Irwin. He was the youngest of five children. Albert married Darlene Balan on August 31, 1963, and together they made their home and raised their family on the farm that Albert was raised on. He spent the winters in the early years of their marriage in the oil patch, and the summers alongside his wife in the fields seeding, haying and combining, milking cows, and raising beef cattle and pigs. Albert had a great sense of humour, and loved telling stories of his childhood and adventures on the rigs.
Albert will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his beloved wife of 56 years, Darlene; and his three daughters, Brenda (Jesse) Dial of Rimbey; Jeanette (Kelly) Towle of Rimbey; and Angela (Darren) Lagace of Rocky Mountain House; as well as six grandchildren: Dustin (Megan) Dial, Casey (Dustin) Lethbridge, Bailey Towle, Taylor Towle, Spencer Lagace, and Carter Lagace; and three precious great grandchildren, Moxon and Brynn Lethbridge, and Mason Dial; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends. Albert was predeceased by his parents; his brother, William; and three sisters: Helen, Hazel, and Florence.
