Ralph Arnold Pike of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at the age of 84 years.


Ralph was born on December 30, 1935 to Frank and Marjorie Pike. He completed Grade 5 in school at Leedale and Faraway, after which time he went to work at a sawmill in the Faraway area at the age of 12 years. Ralph’s other jobs during his career included; truck driver, oilfield operator, and farmer. During his off-time, he took great pleasure in camping, hunting, and fishing. Ralph enjoyed competing in rodeo events as a bareback rider and a wild horse man, and he also coached his son’s hockey teams. Ralph’s greatest love was spending time with his family and friends around a campfire or the kitchen table. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.


Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret; his sons: Dwaine (Ronda), Wayne (Jody), and Daryl (Sheila); as well as ten grandchildren, and twenty-three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jack (Geraldine); sister, Maxine Kramps; and brother-in-law, Keith Bendle. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Marjorie; brother and sister-in-law, Gordon (Doreen); sisters and brothers-in-law, Aleda (Bob) Long, and Kelsey (Victor) Konowalyk; sister, Kathy Bendle; and his brothers-in-law, Francis Kramps, and John Lawson.


A Private Family Interment took place at the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey on Monday, March 30, 2020. An Informal Gathering to Celebrate Ralph’s Life was held at the Leedale Community Centre, Leedale, at a later date.
