JOST

Our treasured brother, cousin, and friend, Edward “Eddie” J. Jost of Winfield, Alberta, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the age of 79 years.

Eddie was a farmer all of his life. He would walk the fields and pastures during the day, or at night when he couldn’t sleep, and took great pleasure in the peace of the land. Eddie was a kind man who was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. He was vastly knowledgeable as a welder, and was experienced with all kinds of machinery. In his earlier years, Eddie also worked for a short time in the oilfield industry with his close friend, Raymond. Together they also customized Raymond’s trucks precisely to their liking, and he enjoyed every moment of this leisure activity. Eddie was well liked in the community, and he will be missed by those lives that he has touched.

Eddie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving sister, Margaret Jost of Winfield; his cousins, Rose Marie and Catherine Garvey; and many additional cousins residing in B.C., as well as several second cousins. He will also be deeply missed by his closest friend and business partner, Raymond (Janet) Becker of Buck Lake; in addition to several other relatives; and countless friends, neighbours, and acquaintances. He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Elizabeth “Lizzie.”

A Family Graveside Service was held in the Maywood Cemetery, Buck Lake at a later date. Eddie’s honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Becker, Rose Marie Garvey, Catherine Garvey, Denis Friess, Kenneth Hellervik, Harvey Sharp, and Scott Sharp. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Eddie’s memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice. Condolence messages may be forwarded to the family by visiting: www.ofc-ltd.ca
