BRETON

With heartfelt sorrow, the family of Louis Julien Joseph Breton of Rimbey, Alberta shares the sad news of his sudden passing at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at the age of 61 years.

Louis was born on October 1, 1959 in Quebec. He was raised in New Brunswick, and moved to Alberta in 1977. Louis worked many jobs throughout his life, although his main profession and love was trucking. He hauled cattle, but mostly worked in the oilfield industry and hauled equipment for various companies. Louis absolutely loved trucking, until a shoulder injury in January of 2020 left him unable to drive a truck. He then worked in the shop at Midwest Propane when a second injury rendered him unable to work at all. Louis had many talents, and enjoyed sharing them. He played the piano, guitar, and harmonica. Louis was also exceptionally crafty and knowledgeable, and could build just about anything. He was a very happy man, who also enjoyed any time visiting with friends and family. He possessed an extremely large heart, and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. His oldest daughter and son-in-law joined the R.C.M.P., and that filled Louis with tremendous pride. He had always been a family man, with his family being the most important thing to him, and he was certainly the best husband a girl could ever dream of. Louis was incredibly loved, and will be terribly missed.

Louis leaves behind his loving family: his wife, Emily; two daughters, Jennifer “Jai” Wells and her husband, John and their son, JR of Ponoka; and Cindy Breton and her son, Phillip of Penhold; as well as his stepson, Dylan Carruthers of Rimbey; and his stepdaughter, Samantha Carruthers of Kelowna, B.C. He is also survived by his sister, Judy and her husband, Carol; and his brothers: Claude, Reno, and Steven; in addition to several nieces, nephews, and other relatives; along with many good friends. Louis was predeceased by his parents; his granddaughter, Gabriel; two sisters, Verla and Betty; and two brothers, Wallace “Pit” and Robert.

A Celebration of Louis’ Life was held at a later date. If friends desire, memorial tributes in his memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice. Condolence messages may be forwarded to the family by visiting: www.ofc-ltd.ca
