It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Trudy Ellsworth (née Meyer) of Rimbey, Alberta.  Trudy passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the age of 73 years. 

Born in the Netherlands in 1952 to Jan and Hilda Meyer, Trudy immigrated to Canada as a young child and remained a proud Albertan throughout her life.  She was a woman who embraced life’s simple joys:  the rhythm of a good song, the community of a dance floor, and the comfort of a family get-together surrounded by love.  From her long career at Alberta Government Telephones (AGT) in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to her retirement years in Ponoka and Rimbey, Trudy brought warmth and light wherever she went.  Her family will forever cherish the memories of her music and her lifelong love for dancing.

Trudy is now reunited with her son Garrett John Jr.; and her sisters Kay, Olga, and Anne.  Her memory will be carried on by her daughters Tracy (Brent) and Edie (Danny); her grandchildren Tyler (Justine), Candace (Logan), and Shelbee; as well as her many beloved great-grandchildren.  Trudy is also survived by her brother Jake; her sister Hilda; and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
