ERICKSON
With sad hearts, and yet joy for a life well-lived, we announce that Bernice Eleanor Erickson stepped into the presence of her Saviour, Jesus Christ. She passed away at the Northcott Care Centre, Ponoka on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the age of 94 years.
Bernice had a deep faith in, and love for God, and her caring and compassionate spirit impacted many people. She prayed diligently for her family and friends, and loved everyone unconditionally. Bernice’s beautiful smile and amazing laugh will be remembered by everyone. She was a special lady, and each person she knew will have hearts overflowing with wonderful memories of her.
Bernice will be profoundly missed by her daughter, Frances Erickson; her daughter-in-law, Patsy Erickson; in addition to seven cherished grandchildren: Rick Muncaster, Kyla (Gary) Woitas, Theresa Curtiss, Doug (Jolene) Curtiss, Patricia Curtiss, Christy (Kenny) Varty, and Jennifer (Scott) Erickson; as well as seven great grandchildren: Ranelle Muncaster, Alisha Curtiss, Dorian Massier, Katie Curtiss, Spencer Curtiss, and Kelton and Lacey Varty. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard; parents, Clarence and Mabel Pendleton; her son, Doug and daughter, Beryl; son-in-law, Bob; and her three siblings: brother, Don and sisters, Thelma and Frances.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and caregivers of the Valley View Manor in Rimbey and the Northcott Care Centre in Ponoka, for the kind and compassionate care they provided Bernice over the past eleven years.
In keeping with the provincial gathering restrictions at the time, the family held a small service in Celebration of Bernice’s Life at the Meadowbrook Church on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Carey Willis officiating. Interment followed in the Gull Lake Cemetery.
