FLECK

It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Alan ‘Al’ Glen Fleck at his home in Pigeon Lake, Alberta on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the age of 71 years - a loving and beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Al was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and completed high school before beginning his working career and moving to various locations throughout western Canada. He met his wife, Susan in Red Deer, and they finally settled in Pigeon Lake where they have resided for the last 27 years. From a career in transportation to an entrepreneur, Al balanced it all well, with time spent with his wife and children - and then an awesome transformation into an amazing father-in-law and grandfather. Al was always known as selfless, hardworking, gentle, and kind. He was always willing to lend an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and a hand to help. He is loved, will be missed, and will be remembered by many.

Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Susan; and his four children: Nathan (Felicia), Mishon (Michael) Steeves, Rosalie (Kevin) Steeves, and Elliot; as well as seven precious grandchildren: Kendra, Cydney, and Hadlee Fleck; Everett Steeves; and Amaya, Kianna, and Teagan Steeves. He will also be lovingly remembered by two sisters, Linda (Jim) Petersen; and Rhonda (Virgil) Sails; his in-laws, Les and Dolores Bagnall; in addition to countless other relatives, and many cherished friends. Al was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Isabell Fleck.

In keeping with the provincial gathering restrictions at the time, a Family Service in Celebration of Alan’s Life was held at the Hoadley Evangelical Missionary Church, Hoadley on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Klassen officiating. For those who wished, the service was also broadcast simultaneously via FM transmitter, and was held in drive-in format outdoors in the church parking lot. Those attending the drive-in format were asked to please remain in their vehicles at all times in order to follow proper AHS protocols.

A Family Interment preceded the service in the Hoadley Cemetery, Hoadley at 1:00 p.m. If friends desire, memorial tributes in Alan’s Memory can be made directly to Compassion Canada, PO Box 5591, London, Ontario N6A 5G8 (www.compassion.ca); or to the Hoadley Evangelical Missionary Church, Box 1, Site 7, RR 2, Bluffton, Alberta T0C 0M0 (via cheque or e-Transfer).
