GURNETT

It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of our cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John “Jack” Gurnett, of Rimbey, Alberta.  Jack passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Monday, November 13, 2023, at the age of 96 years. 

Jack will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his loving children Heather, Gordon, Susan (Tom), Ted (Mayi), Karen, and Joanne (Miles).  He will also be lovingly remembered by eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as several additional family members; and many close and treasured friends.  Jack was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Ruth Gurnett; his loving wife of 71 years, Margaret in 2021; two sons James and David; and his granddaughters Silk and Jessica.     

A Family Graveside Service in Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at the Hoadley Cemetery on Thursday, November 16, 2023.  If desired, memorial donations in his memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice.  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
