HAYDUK

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bonnie Jean Hayduk (née Hjelmeland) of Rimbey, Alberta, formerly of Alsike, Alberta.  Bonnie passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre – Long Term Care on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the age of 67 years.    


Bonnie was born in Innisfail, Alberta on April 1, 1956, to Stan and Ruth Hjelmeland.  She was a homemaker, and a devoted mother and grandmother.  Bonnie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.  Many happy days were spent with everyone she loved, going out for drives, and working in her yard and garden.

 

Bonnie will be greatly missed by her four children Ryan of Wetaskiwin; Kiel (Darla) of Rimbey; Joy-Lyn of Calgary; and Holly of Acme, Alberta; as well as her nine treasured grandchildren Shai, Tayne, Trayse, Madison, Siane, Jaxson, Brylee, Mallory, and Keston.  She will also be greatly missed by two brothers Don of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; and Allan (Kim) also of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; and one sister Lorayne (Dennis) of Oliver, British Columbia; in addition to several nieces and nephews.  Bonnie was predeceased by her parents Stan and Ruth Hjelmeland.

 

A very special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and caregivers in the Acute and Long Term Care areas of the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre.  Your kindness towards Bonnie will never be forgotten.

 

With respect for the family’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.  Interment will take place in the spring of 2024 in the Breton Cemetery, Breton, Alberta.  If desired, memorial donations in Bonnie’s memory may be made directly to the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, c/o the Rimbey Hospital Legacy Committee, Box 440, Rimbey, Alberta  T0C 2J0 (www.rimbeyhospitallegacycommittee.com).  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
