KREIL
It is with sadness, but no regret, that we announce the passing of Esther Kreil of Ponoka, Alberta at the age of 85 years. Our Mom entered her heavenly home so very peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, after a very short stay in the hospital. Her passing was unexpected, but she was ready and looking forward to Heaven.
Esther was baptized on April 9 of this year. It was very important to her that everyone knew for sure of her home in Heaven. Jesus and her family were the most important things in Mom’s life, and her goal was to tell as many people as possible about Jesus and His promise of eternity in Heaven. This was evidenced by all of the notes and letters we found in her house as we cleaned and sorted.
Mom was predeceased by her infant son Donald; her honey – Rolly in 2013; and her two precious sons Reg and Rick, who passed away a few days apart in July, 2021; in addition to most of her and Dad’s siblings.
Esther will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Melody (Scott) Campbell, and Debbi (Wade) Raugust; her daughter-in-law Mabel Kreil; as well as eleven grandchildren: Shane (Robyn) Kreil and their children Ashton, Chelsey, and Luke; Travis (Sarah) Kreil and his children Kevin and Ryan; Roger Kreil; Gary Kreil; Carleen (Glynn) Hurst and their children Nathan and Elisha; Haley (Brendan) Brochu and their children Mackenzie, Addison, and Cassidy; Amanda Jeffrey and her children Kaiden, Morgan, Alyssa, and Dakoda; Jesse (Andrea) Raugust and their children Isaiah and Hadley; and Paige Raugust. Mom also had the privilege of loving her “extra” children – Charlie, Janet, Sharmayne, Todd, Steve, and Mark. She is also survived by Mathew Kreil and Shannon Leepart; one sister Katy of Medicine Hat; two of Rolly’s siblings Ralph (Dorothy) Kreil of Ponoka and June Mitzel of Foremost, Alberta; and her sister-in-law Carol Kreil of Rocky Mountain House.
A Public Celebration of Esther’s Life will be held at the First Baptist Church, 5109 – 57 Avenue, Ponoka on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. Coffee time and cinnamon buns will follow in the Fellowship Hall. If desired, memorial donations in Esther’s memory may be made directly to Central Alberta Youth Unlimited, 5025 – 50 Street, Lacombe, Alberta T4L 1X9 (www.cayu.ca); or to Samaritan’s Purse Canada – Water Projects, 20 Hopewell Way NE, Calgary, Alberta T3J 5H5 (www.samaritanspurse.ca).
