CARPENTER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Maureen Carpenter (née Goodall) of Rimbey, Alberta at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 72 years.

Donna was born on May 24, 1953, in Calgary, Alberta.  She met her best friend, Ivan Carpenter, and they were united in marriage in 1972.  Donna was employed as a bookkeeper at the Rimbey Co-op and at Sekura Auctions, as well as spending many years in the insurance industry in Drayton Valley and in Smithers, B.C.  She was respected for her work ethics and took every job seriously.  Donna had many interests, including sewing, gardening, and photography.  Donna and Ivan also never missed a rodeo, and they knew the history of all the participants.  She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Donna will be greatly missed by her husband of 53 years, Ivan; her son Kyle (Verna) and his daughters Emma and Isabelle, and her son Keith.  She will also be greatly missed by her sister Heather (Alvin) Kemp and their sons Murray, Jeff and his children Chael and Callen, and Kurt (Samantha) and their children Micah and Jackson.  Donna is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, additional nieces and nephews, and close friends.  She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Jean Goodall.

Donna’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre for the wonderful care and compassion that was shown to Donna. 

A Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Rimbey on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Rhonda Davidson hosting.  She will be laid to rest in the Mount Clare Cemetery, Winfield at a later date.  If desired, memorial donations in Donna’s memory may be made directly to STARS Air Ambulance, Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Calgary, Alberta  T2E 8M7 (www.stars.ca); to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and NWT, #306, 10430 – 61 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta  T6H 2J3 (www.alzheimer.ca); or to the charity of one’s choice.  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
