The world lost a bright, beautiful light with the passing of Lola Gale Jaffray (née Boettger) of Rimbey, Alberta on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Lola fought a courageous battle with cancer and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre at the age of 59 years.
Born in Eckville, Alberta, Lola was raised on the family farm, where she affectionately earned the name of “Cowsh** Charlie!” Lola met the love of her life, Randy Jaffray of Bentley, Alberta, at the age of 14 years. They resided in the Bentley area for their 40 years of marriage, raised three children, and made many memories while spending lots of time together as a family. Lola would take the children camping to the mountains, as well as to horse shows where they would compete from a very young age. This passion has passed on to her grandchildren.
Lola was known as a vibrant, friendly, strong, and genuine person with lots of energy and spunk, and an infectious smile to go along with her warm personality. She had a love for horses, camping, family, and her faithful dog Hooch. Lola was always happy to visit with family and friends, and could strike up a conversation with anyone she met.
“Lola was the heart and soul of her family, and she will be deeply missed.”
Lola will be lovingly remembered by her husband Randy; her three children Kyla (Clayton) Chambers, Nikki (KC) Conrad, and Cody (Erin) Jaffray; as well as her eight precious grandchildren Alexandria, Hunter, Reagan, Colt, Kori, Carly, Jocelyn, and Tuff. She will also be lovingly remembered by her father Larry (May) Boettger; her Uncle Ken and Auntie Annie Hubl; her close friends Janet (Paul) Pence; her siblings Cheryl and Brenda; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews, additional family members, and many cherished friends. Lola was predeceased by her mother Shirley Boettger.
A Memorial Service in Celebration of Lola’s Life will be held at the Peter Lougheed Community Centre, 5109 – 54 Street, Rimbey on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations in her memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice.
