REPAS

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Maxwell Repas of Rimbey, Alberta.  Earl passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, with numerous family members by his side, on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the age of 63 years.

Earl was born on February 28, 1961 in Rimbey, where he spent most of his life.  He was the fifth of the five children born to Ernie and Myrtle Repas, and was raised on a farm west of Rimbey.  Earl met his spouse, Francine, at the young age of 19 years, and they were together until the end.  They raised a family of three children that were all born and raised in Rimbey and area.

Earl loved his family and his job of operating his tow truck business.  He felt it was very rewarding to help people out in a time of need.  Earl had two other passions in his life; one was collecting Harley Davidson motorcycles, and the other was racing cars.

Earl is survived by his wife Francine; his children Jessica Lightbown, Angela (Pat) Worthington, and Maxwell Repas (Hailey Ryckewaert); as well as seven treasured grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Ken Repas; two sisters Reita Stewart and Sheila Thomson; in addition to several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.  Earl was predeceased by his parents; and one brother Alan Repas.

With respect for Earl’s wishes, no service will be held.  He will be laid to rest in the West Haven Cemetery, Rimbey at a later date.  If desired, memorial donations in Earl’s memory may be made directly to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, c/o the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 710, 10123 – 99 Street, Edmonton, Alberta  T5J 3H1 (www.albertacancer.ca).  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
