BENGTSON

Mr. Bruce Anders Bengtson was born on the Westerose, Alberta homestead on January 1, 1934, where he lived, drove Cat, and farmed all his life until moving to the Valley View Manor in Rimbey in the fall of 2025.  After a brief illness, Bruce passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 92 years.

Bruce is survived by his sons Garnet (Kim) and Warren (Fiona); and his daughter-in-law Lori (Russell). He is also survived by his grandchildren Amanda (Mike), Allan (Sam), Wesley, and Ashley (Mason); in addition to his great-grandchildren Kendyl and Jayd.  Bruce was predeceased by his parents Anders and Dorit; and his siblings Hugh, Perle, Beatrice, and Ruby. 

Bruce’s family would like to thank the staff at the Valley View Manor in Rimbey for making Bruce feel so welcome there.  Sincere appreciation is also extended to the staff in Acute Care at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, as well as to Amber at Rural Care Co., for caring for Bruce in the last weeks of his life.

With respect for Bruce’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.  He will be laid to rest in the Burnbrae Cemetery at a later date.  If desired, memorial donations in Bruce’s memory may be made directly to the charity of one’s choice.  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
