It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Robert Randall “Randy” Schimpf of Ponoka, Alberta. Randy passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the age of 67 years.

Randy was born in Ponoka on September 22, 1958. Throughout his life he worked in various roles, including positions at Integra Tire and Auto Centre and Fountain Tire in Ponoka. At the time of his passing, Randy was employed at Sommer Home Hardware Building Centre, where he has worked for several years. He valued spending time with friends and family, cherishing every moment shared with them.

Randy will be deeply missed and forever loved by his only child, his son Matthew (Alyssa) Pallister, and his beloved grandson Caleb Pallister. He is also mourned by his sisters Sharon Telfer, Wendy (Earl) Peavoy, Judy (Norm) Soucy, and Linda (Jim) Rose; his brother Richard (Debbie) Schimpf; and his brother-in-law Elmer Anderson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends who will hold Randy’s memory dear. Randy was predeceased by his father Rudolf Schimpf; his mother Ethel Schimpf; his sister Peggy Anderson; and his brother-in-law Steve Telfer.

A public Celebration of Randy’s Life will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest in the Forest Home Cemetery, Ponoka.
