With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bianca Loosman of Breton, Alberta on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 54 years.

Bianca was born in the Netherlands on June 8, 1971.  After a year, she moved to Germany with her parents where she resided for thirteen years.  Bianca returned to Holland to attend university to become a registered nurse, and upon completion of her training she worked in a hospital in The Hague for several years.  After her two sons were born, Bianca worked as a caregiver providing care and support to others.  In 2013, she moved with her family to Canada and resided in Olds, Alberta.  They later settled on their farm south of Breton in 2018.  Bianca loved being surrounded by Mother Nature and especially appreciated the beauty of the mountains.

She was a special mom and wife – – and will be deeply missed.

Bianca will be lovingly remembered by her husband Quarien “Q” de Vlieger; and her three sons Luke Van Asselt and Mike Van Asselt, both of the Netherlands; and Anando de Vlieger of Breton.  She will also be lovingly remembered by her mother Hannie Loosman (née Baak) of the Netherlands; her sister Judith (Ronald) Stolk, also of the Netherlands, and their two children Jop and Lotte; as well as many other relatives and close friends in Canada and in the Netherlands.  Bianca was predeceased by Jaap and Ananda.

A private family gathering to Celebrate Bianca’s Life will be held in June, 2026.  If desired, memorial donations in Bianca’s memory may be made directly to the Alberta Conservation Association, Box 336, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta  T4T 1A3 (www.ab–conservation.com).  Thoughts and messages to the family may be shared through the condolence area located at the bottom of this page.
